Last I checked it’s the year 2010. The internet has been around for and gaining popularity for nearly a quarter century. Old school forms of internet communication and community are still going strong in the form of forums and comments and yet the later has changed with the times and the former is still stuck in the 90’s. What gives!? I can use Facebook, Twitter, or Google to log in to the comments section of most websites and yet I have to create a custom proprietary account for every single forum I ever want to post in. It’s not just the likes of Joe Bob’s personal website and forum but every website I’ve found with a forum in the last month.
I’m told its doable fairly easily through a combination of CMS, Forums and plug-in’s. So why haven’t the folks implementing these forums caught up to the times?
